Toffe Butter Crunch

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans toasted
Instructions
Step 1
Use an 8x8 x2 inch baking pan
Step 2
In saucepan melt butter, add sugar, water and corn syrup, cook and stir over medium - high heat until mixture boils, clip a candy thermometer to side of pan. Reduce heat to medium, continue boiling at moderate, stirring frequently, until thermometer registers 290°F (145°C) soft crack stage 12 minutes
Step 3
Remove saucepan from heat, remove thermometer. Pour candy into the prepared pan, spreading quickly.
Step 4
Let candy stand about 3 minutes or until set, sprinkle with chocolate chips, let stand 2 minutes, when chocolate has softened, spread over candy, sprinkle with pecans.
Step 5
Chill for 20 minutes or until firm.
Step 6
When firm, use foil to lift it out of pan,break into pieces.
Step 7
Store tightly covered in the refrigerator
