In the mid-1940s, sales of industrial aluminum declined and Reynolds Metals saw the opportunity to promote aluminum for consumer goods and packaging. Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil was put on the market in 1947. Its advertising was based on how it could be used in the kitchen to wrap up “leftovers.” In the early 1960s, the company began producing aluminum beverage cans. David Reynolds, the founder’s son, was recognized in the mid-1980s as a pioneer in recycling and reusing aluminum. As experts in home packaging, Reynolds Metals also manufactured and sold Cut-Rite wax paper, which is still available today.

In 2010, Reynolds Consumer Products as we know it today was formed. This led to a new product line that included trash bags and Hefty® resealable bags, as well as disposable plates and cups. The company currently offers a wide range of products which includes aluminum foil under the Reynolds Wrap and Diamond brands, cooking and baking paper, aluminum foil pans, and food bags--items that make family meals easier. Our products are available in approximately 100 countries worldwide.
